Environment

Through robust checks on the Supply Chain in accordance with Hanson Plywood’s Due Diligence System (monitored under the Timber Trade Federation’s Responsible Purchasing Policy), we ensure that our Malaysian products are purchased from Peninsular Malaysia.

Within Peninsular Malaysia, ‘most permanent reserved forests are certified under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS), under which forest management plans are audited and provide a level of assurance of legality for timber originating from these forests.’ (NEPCon – Forest Risk Profile) . MTCS is the first national certification scheme in South Asia to be endorsed by PEFC™, which illustrates the schemes recognition for responsible forest management.

Hanson Plywood ensures MTCS certified plywood is purchased from Suppliers of Malaysian Plywood, even when it is not promoted and sold as PEFC™ certified material.
