The furniture industry has traditionally used birch plywood panels due to their high strength and durable properties in functional applications such as; schools, laboratories, auditoriums, libraries, shops, restaurants, and bars.
There is also now a growing demand for the use of birch plywood for more decorative finishes and many designers are highlighting the clean faces and laminated edge detail that are a primary feature of panels.

Our extensive range of birch plywood for the furniture industry is produced by a range of manufacturers who are renowned for their technical knowledge and ability to produce very high-quality plywood. Products are produced using selected premium birch logs to ensure that every stringent requirement that the furniture industry may have is fully satisfied.

Environment

Hanson Plywood’s Birch Plywood is sourced from well-managed, FSC® and PEFC  chain of custody certified forest management units.

The company’s robust FSC® Chain of Custody management system ensures that this certification is respected and adhered to throughout the supply chain. For further information, please refer to our Environment Page.

Birch  Plywood also emits extremely low levels of formaldehyde and is CARB Phase 2 compliant. This means the product’s glue line is tested by the California Air Resource Board to meet a permissible level lower than that which is dictated by the European Standards (E1 under EN 717-2).
